Our Story
We are Iana & Wouter and we love to travel in our RV together with our dog, Lucky.
We hope this page will inspire you to get out there and create your own adventures!
Iana ♥ Wouter
Our story began in Belgium.
We met, we dated, and then we moved into a small apartment together.
About one year later, in search of more nature and adventures, we left everything behind and moved to a little town in Sweden. At the same time, we got a cute Border Collie puppy, Lucky.
We got jobs, learned the language, and renovated the house we bought from top till bottom while doubling its size.
After many adventures and road trips in the beautiful nature of Scandinavia, we decided to buy a small, old RV. This way we could experience longer adventures and have a bit more comfort compared to wild camping in a tent.
On a cold November day in 2015, we found what we were looking for. A few days later we went on a 700 kilometer (400 miles) round trip to bring our first RV home.
We celebrated our purchase with a glass of champagne inside our first RV, a Bürstner A532 1.9td from 1997. We gave him the nickname “Snail”, named after his incredible speed…
After hibernating the cold Swedish winter we experienced our first night’s wild camping in an RV right in the middle of a forest. All alone, surrounded by the sounds of different animals, we realized that this was exactly what we were longing for.
That summer, after many shorter trips we drove our little RV all the way down to the Croatian coast.
After another cold winter had passed by we decided that we really enjoyed RV living and it was time for an upgrade. About 40.000 kilometers (25,000 miles) later we put “Snail” on for sale and 2 days later he left with his new owners.
The search was on and we found our new RV, a Hymer B524 2.8idtd from 1999. We called him “Rabbit” since he was significantly faster than “Snail”.
We took “Rabbit” on many road trips, we drove him all over the country and spent the summer of 2017 on the Lofoten islands in Norway with him. It was magical. To be able to see the Lofoten mountains right from your RV window was an unforgettable experience. Even during the clouded rainy days, we were still warm and cozy in our little home. This is what it was all about.
A year later we ended up all the way around the black sea in Bulgaria for a 6 week holiday. It was a big road trip, crossing a lot of countries and a lot of changes in scenery. We wild camped the whole trip and found beautiful spots right on the beach. The warm water of the black sea will be a memory that will stay with us forever.
After all these road trips we learned a lot about RV life and we were falling in love with the lifestyle more and more.
After another summer spent around the coast of Poland, which is beautiful but a bit cold, and about 40.000 kilometers (25,000 miles) later we decided that once again it was time for a change. Taking our experiences from “Snail” and “Rabbit” we began the search for the perfect RV for us.
This time we decided to go for a bigger upgrade and after searching for quite some time we ended up with our current RV, “Moosie”. It’s a Bürstner Elegance 685 2.8jtd from 2004.
The RV is a bit bigger than the previous ones, measuring 6.85m (about 22ft) in length so we are sure we have enough space inside during the rainy days. We will continue to upgrade the RV with some things like a back camera, parking sensors, a power inverter, solar panels, and a lifepo4 battery. Make sure to follow us if you are interested in this!
You can read more about our current RV on the page Our RV.
Feeling confident that this RV has the exact layout and size we want, we can’t wait to see where “Moosie” will take us next!
We don’t know yet where to go but we are sure it will be another unforgettable adventure!
An RV gives you great access to the outdoors. We have spent hundreds of kilometers driving on gravel roads in search of the perfect lake, waterfall, or sleeping place. Ended up in amazing places, seen the most unexpected things. Just because we decided to drive these roads we have seen amazing things along the way.
We enjoyed incredible sunsets over beautiful lakes and experienced great wildlife. We have experienced moose and reindeers crossing right in front of us. We spotted countless deer in the fields around us. Beavers swimming to fix their dam and we might even have spotted a wolf along the way. It is actually amazing how many animals are active at night in the forest. From birds to wolves, hearing them from your bedroom on wheels, it is a magical feeling.
Another great thing about traveling with an RV is the ability to take our dog, Lucky, with us. She loves traveling just as much as we do and is always ready for the next adventure. Even if there are moments where she cannot be part of the adventure, we know that she is safe in the RV.
You can really see how she enjoys all the trips. As soon as you start loading up the RV she gets excited and she makes sure you won’t forget her.
